“To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

Fresher's Orientation

On request from IIT administration, NRCVEE has been participating in the Freshers' orientation since 2007. Structured interactions are planned in advance and a large number of faculty members interact with the freshers in small groups of size not exceeding 45. The issues transacted pertain to the academic life and career, campus and hostel life, personality development and social responsibility of professionals. Media such as films / video clippings, powerpoint presentations, interactive questionnaire, etc were used with good measure of success in getting the students' attention drawn to the interrelation between immediate goals and the aim beyond these goals, and how one deals with day-to-day events when one approaches day-to-day decision making with firm rooting on the aim beyond aim. In the first two years, two or three follow-up programmes were also conducted with compulsory attendance. From the current year, such programmes have been done away with, and instead, programmes with voluntary registrations have been held.
