About the Workshop

A person without human values misses very fundamental opportunities that human life has to offer. Such people may end up leading aimless and purpose-less lives, always caught up trying to accomplish short-term objectives, without any idea about what the long-term goal is or how to go about accomplishing it. Yoga and meditation provide rigorous scientific frameworks of life in general, and human life in particular, using which various philosophical and metaphysical questions may be explored. An important offshoot of this line of inquiry is that the Universal Human Values come out as a self-discovered outcome, not as an externally imposed restriction, thus making it more sustainable and acceptable.
This workshop is intended to explore the mind through the disciplines of Yoga and meditation and their relationship with modern contemplative neuroscience and neurophenomenology. The theory and practice of Yoga and meditation will be covered. In addition, the scientific aspects of Yoga and meditation in first-person as well as in third-person perspectives will be elucidated. The workshop will have several eminent national and international academicians and practitioners who will speak about their research and their views on these topics.
IIT Delhi invites faculty from educational institutes across India and prospective researchers in the domains of contemplative neuroscience and yogic sciences to participate in this workshop and make their contribution by bringing into practice and spreading the knowledge and ideas exchanged on this one of its kind platform.
