To identify, develop and disseminate techniques by which engineering students and practising engineers can be motivated to imbibe human values and appreciate their impact on technology development, professional ethics and human welfare.
The centre has had no full-time faculty since the time of its inception. A few faculty members from various Departments across the institute came forward to become Joint Faculty members of the centre, while an even larger number of faculty associated themselves with the activities of the centre from time to time. The typical strength of the Centre Faculty Board has ranged from 10 to 25 over the time.
Annexure 1* gives the list of the Joint and Associated faculty members who have been associated with the centre in the past and the present.
Prof. P.L. Dhar was the founder Head of the Centre, and he served in this position from 2001 to 2004.
Prof. R.R. Gaur served as the Head of the Centre from 2004 to 2008, and Prof. M.R. Ravi held the office between 2008 and 2011. Prof. Sangeeta Kohli is the Head of NRCVEE since January 2012.
The Centre has one Office Assistant on a contractual appointment, and an attendant who is an IIT employee.
